From June 10 to 12, a delegation of foreign journalists from the UK, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong SAR embarked on a three-day tour in Guangdong, China's economic powerhouse known for its leading EV and low-altitude industries. On their first day, they witnessed how cutting-edge technologies are transforming travel experiences and shaping the future of low-altitude industries.
Fujino Itsuro, a journalist from Japan's Nihon Keizai Shinbun, expressed his thoughts on the technological maturity of Chinese EVs during a visit to Xpeng, a top brand for EVs in China, noting that China leads the world in both advancement and widespread adoption. Itsuro and his companions in the delegation rode the latest EV models and experienced the intelligent driving systems at Xpeng.
Shuai Cheng of Hong Kong's Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, another delegation member, shared with GDToday during the tour of Ehang that such innovations could soon become a part of everyday life if pricing becomes accessible. At Ehang, the delegation experienced a ride aboard a pilotless aircraft designed for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL).
In recent years, Guangdong has initiated plans to empower its manufacturing industry with the latest technologies, with the EV and low-altitude industries as the two main focuses.
